81"Norah" and "Jenna": Beyond Their Free Introductory Readings: How Accurate Are They?
Free readings offered by online-psychic entities such as Norah, Jenna, Zoradamus, or Gabriella tempt many people. The free readings are lengthy, very general messages addressing the customer by first name and encouraging the purchase of another, more detailed reading or "guidance." The next reading costs about $50-$80. Most people won't pay it, but some do.
Two Horoscope Review readers forwarded me recent samples of their paid readings, asking me if they were authentic and reliable. They permitted me to summarize the material they paid for. I have added some commentary.
Yasmin's reading from Norah at premiumastrology.com
Yasmin ordered her "Transit Guide" from Norah at Premiumastrology.com. Yasmin got a link to a web page. Printed out, the message takes up 10 single-spaced pages.
The first three pages introduce Norah as a Certified Empathic Astro-Clairvoyant who has visions of the future and knows the stars and planets. She predicts an important "103-day transit period" for Yasmin. The actual reading begins on page 4.
For Yasmin: "Your Money and Career"
Norah said she sensed turmoil in Yasmin's finances, maybe because of debts or being underpaid, or perhaps Yasmin had not found her true calling. "There also seems to be a dark veil that surrounds your self-image and sense of personal value." Norah sensed changes and disturbances in Yasmin's second and tenth houses, astrological houses of money and career. She said Yasmin's recent career setbacks and missed deadlines were manifestations of her own frustration. Projected out into the universe her frustrations developed into a vicious cycle of negative energy.
Yasmin, Norah said, was secretly afraid of failure. Her desire to stay in her comfort zone was holding her back, and she must gather the courage to break out of it. She must allow spirit to guide her, and act and speak positively in order for matters to improve and for abundance to reach her. While dining out during work hours, Yasmin might meet someone who can assist her in finding opportunities.
Sylvia Says:
First, know that everyone buying this reading will receive a similar message about an upcoming important "103-day transit."
Norah, "Astro-Clairvoyant," claims she does astrology by intuition. But intuition and clairvoyance (the ability to have visions) play no part in astrology. What Norah sent is not a horoscope or a "Transit Guide" because she mentions no zodiac and no planets. A real astrologer also could and would tell Yasmin the dates her important 103-day "transit" would begin and end. And there is never just one transit. Planets transit the sky continually.
Two items in the reading are astrologically correct. Every horoscope chart has 12 houses. The Second House, or House 2, is indeed the house of money and material worth, the Tenth House the house of career. However, a real career horoscope would describe the effects of Yasmin's natal and transiting planets on her Houses 2 and 10. No chart was given.
The advice given to Yasmin -- the exact same advice you and everyone will get, because Norah is not a person; "she" is a computerized email program -- is not bad or evil; it's just very generic. Who doesn't want more fulfilling, better-paying work? We have all been frustrated. We already know we must act to change our lives. And "Let go and trust in Spirit" is advice you have already heard for free, maybe from your aunt or pastor. Why pay for it?
Yasmin's love life
Norah predicted that Yasmin's "twin soul" would appear the next week, wearing blue or surrounded by blue. But Yasmin must first feel happy with herself and worthy of meeting her twin soul. If not, the Universe will distract the twin soul so they won't meet. (They didn't meet.)
Norah advised writing a daily journal of hopes and wishes and using it as a life plan, and also meditating using Norah's "Power Meditation Manifestation System" program, which wasn't described or included in the reading. She advised Yasmin to start doing what she really wanted to do.
Yasmin was disappointed in Norah's reading and used Norah's money-back guarantee, instituted in 2011 after hundreds of consumer complaints. Norah's newly updated home page (as of 2012) is loaded with headlines about customer support, and offers customer-service live chat. For a price, clients can also now live-chat with psychics who specialize in career, love or money. "Norah" is also now on eBay as "Maura," selling Tarot readings and spells.
Siddharth's reading from "Jenna" at Aboutastro.com
A man living in India bought a "full reading" from Jenna. He asked me if its astrology was accurate. It said:
"Any competant astrologer has known for months that a major astrological event will soon occur in just a few days time. This event is a Jupiter Retrograde motion which will take place between the 5 January 2012 and the 1 February 2012. This astrological event is one of the most important of the whole year 2012 and it will have a number of important repercussions for many of us. You should take note of the fact that people in India will be particularly affected by this major event."
Sylvia says:
This is totally inaccurate, the complete opposite of the facts. Any basic astrology source will say that Jupiter's retrograde motion lasts for about four months -- never four weeks. Jupiter was retrograde from August 30, 2011 until Dec. 25, 2011. Then it went to direct motion, the opposite of retrograde, and will remain that way until Oct. 4, 2012. It will then go retrograde again until January 2013. Retrograde motion is natural and expected, not a special event, and although it has effects -- usually frustration -- it has no special impact on particular nations.
Jenna went on to say she does calculations on every client, had analyzed Siddharth's situation in depth, and in capital letters warned Siddharth that the retrograde period would affect him directly, more so than it would affect other people.

The above is all bull-rot of the highest order. This rot is protected by a disclaimer saying Jenna's readings (like Norah's) are for entertainment only.
Whoever writes "Jenna's" "readings" is a terrible writer. To spare you, I will summarize: Jenna then goes on to say she has done detailed work and calculations on everyone who has contacted her. She informed Siddharth that the retrograde might also bring Siddharth a chance to make very positive and exciting changes in his love life and finances. Because this 27-day period was so important, she advised Siddharth not to let things simply happen but instead take her up on her offer of guidance.
Like "Norah," "Jenna" isn't a woman or an astrologer or even a person. Both are robot computers, also called "bots," and always were. Sure, they have Facebook pages. They are still fake. All their customers at each phase get the same "readings," personalized only with a first name and birth information supplied at the time of purchase. Those who fall for "Jenna's" line will get 70 pages of totally computerized "analysis," probably just as badly written as the above. Siddharth wisely chose to get his money back.
Please Google the names of Internet "psychics" or "astral advisers" before purchasing their services. All psychics who advertise are fakes. A real psychic or clairvoyant -- they are extremely rare -- will not be soliciting business on the Net but more likely hiding from crowds of potential customers attracted via word of mouth. If you need to hear about your future, consult a local astrologer or Tarot-card reader you can meet in person. Ask around at hotels, spas, coffee shops, health-food and New Age stores: anywhere that many people cross paths.

its so believable but when i saw the part where she asked for my bank details, i immediately switched off. rather get a a face to face reading from someone. there are alot of scams over the internet.

I just read her free one and I got all excited about going into transit period, and that I've been lucky all my life but someone (or somthing) has been holding me back, (which sounded realy creepy), but then she offered a further reading for money and I realised that if she was serious abut the whole, 'my eyse exploded with light when I read you' thing she'd offer it for free. The weird thing is, this felt really accurate to me. Funny thing, I thought I had already purchased at the $79 price...my guides and angels must have worked hard at resolving this for me :D
Anywho upon waking up earlier than I had planned(my guides again I'm sure) I called my bank to find out what I can do and discovered that they had a number for Premium Astrology! Which I promptly called and lo and behold I got a hold of "Monica" who had no idea of the email I was referring to Lol! This whole company is fake...so sad."Monica" asked why I would like to cancel my order so I nicely explained the situation(after all shes working this crappy job to pay bills and she may feel bad about scamming people, I don't know) and she said they would cancel my order! It will take 24-48 hours for it to process and 3 days to get back into my account according to her, I will post back and let every one know how it goes.

Hi everyone, I also got fooled by Gabriela. It all sounds great but it does not take long to realize it's a scam and when you get down to it, none of these mediums can help. Yeh, guess that is the warning about sorcery, it will get us in even more trouble. There is only one truth, and that is to know God and he sets all our ways straight.
